kep.tar.hu was a popular Hungarian image hosting service. It was launched in 1999,[1] and was shut down by then-owner Generál Média Kft. on 2011-02-20, along with the tar.hu free webhosting service.[2]
At the time of the closure, according to the website's own statistics, nearly 200,000 users hosted 18.5 million images, that was more than 5 terabytes of data.[2]
