ini.hu is a Hungarian free webhosting service.
History
It was launched in 1999 (or 1998), when they provided only free subdomains under ini.hu, but users had to pay for storage.
In 2008, they introduced a free (ad-supported) plan with 30 MB storage for websites. At the same time, they started to offer other domain names under which users could register their own subdomains. In 2020, users can choose from 55 different domains.
The rules and interface of the service seems to be unchanged since 2008.
A profitable software development and IT solutions company, Deltha Rendszerház Kft., is behind the service.
Site reconnaissance
The Terms state that "names not used at least once for more than three months may be subject to deletion" and "names must be renewed once a year". These rules may or may not actually be imposed.
There is no public directory of registered ini.hu names.
A quick search shows that many users use only the domain name service of ini.hu, and in these cases they actually point to websites built with other – usually free – hosting services.
