Stand News is a free, not-for-profit online news website based in Hong Kong, founded in December 2014 as the successor of House News. It was ranked highest in credibility among online news media in Hong Kong in two public opinion surveys conducted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2016 and 2019.[1][2]
After forced closure of Apple Daily, Stand News became the immediate target of government suppression. On December 29, 2021, Stand News was raided by over 200 officers of the Hong Kong Police Force. [3][4] The website and social media had shut down that night.
