Jane, Get me Off this Crazy Thing!

So you've come to the conclusion that Yahoo! isn't going to be ringing in the new year one of these days, and you realize you've got a bunch of stuff wrapped into the Yahoo! goo-ball that maybe you want a local copy for. Good idea! Backing up your own stuff is one of those responsibilities any growing web user should have. Doing so is of highly variant ease, ranging from "pretty easy" to "out of my cold dead hands". Here's a checklist of Yahoo! owned properties and some suggestions for getting while the getting is good. You also might not have known Yahoo! owned these properties... surprise!
