SteamDB is an unofficial site that keeps track of changes and sales that take place on the Steam system and records them, as well as other miscellaneous related things. The Steam database replaced the previous system known as the content description record.
Operates on donations to cover server costs, which currently show no sign of slowing. Site disallows scraping as most of the same info can be found through the use of Steam's web APIs. Some information such as full /graphs/ page data is therefore restricted to logging in through Steam as a result of people trying to take the lazy way out and using SteamDB in place of Steam's web APIs directly.
Some features could break as a result of circumstances outside of the site's control, such as Valve effectively breaking the functionality of a script that let users grab free "packages" on Steam, or the introduction of manifest request codes.
