HedgeDoc (formerly named CodiMD) is a self-hosted, collaborative Markdown editor. It has replaced Etherpad for many Hackspaces or Open Source projects; probably due to its support for user rights management and because Markdown is popular among these folks.

Archival using Archivebot does not seem to work very well (at least).

HedgeDoc CLI

HedgeDoc itself provides a small CLI tool for interacting with HedgeDoc instances. It seems to be focused on users registered with those instances, but its export functionality should be useful for public documents as well.
