Neopets is a virtual pets website. Users can own, train, and trade virtual "pets", as well as play games, dress their pets, and customize their own webpages. The site was launched in 1999 by Adam Powell and Donna Williams. The website has gone through 3 ownership changes since then and is currently owned by Knowledge Adventure.
On March 8, 2015, Neopets fansite Jellyneo.net reported that "most of The Neopets Team was laid off" and that there were "only a handful of programmers left, along with the support team and the monitor team."[1]
