Mininova was a BitTorrent tracker based in the Netherlands. It was once one of the largest sites offering torrents of copyright-infringing torrents, but in November 2009, following legal action in the Dutch courts, the site operators deleted all torrent files uploaded by regular users including torrents that enabled users to download copyright-infringing material. After that, it operated as a content distribution platform.

End of February 2017, Mininova announced through a message on the website that they would shut down on 2017-04-04. At the time of the shutdown, the tracker was listing 72055 torrents. About 43000 of these were in the "Games > Windows" category, and around 13000 in the "Music" category.

Archival efforts

Two separate archivals of the website by ArchiveBot and by User:JustAnotherArchivist retrieved about 69000 and 67000 torrents (description pages and torrent files), respectively.

The torrent contents (estimated around 3.5 TiB) were not archived.
