Identi.ca is a microblogging service based on pump.io, an open-source microblogging system.

Platform migration

Identi.ca was originally based on StatusNet, but not anymore. (StatusNet is now called GNU Social.)

Identi.ca is still open, but is not accepting new registrations. In addition, only accounts that have been accessed in the past year were migrated over to the new platform. According to the owner, the inactive accounts won't be deleted but will be backed up onto archive.org.
