Daum Agora is a forum where users could post their opinions on politics, society, or submit a petition. Post to the agora has historically caused debates about freedom of the press in South Korea with prosecution over a post on Agora.
On December 3, 2018, Kakao, the operator of Daum, has announced that they will disable new post and comments by January 7, 2019. The backup feature will allow the post author to back up their own posts, but their comments will be lost in the backup. Their annoucement noted they will purge the data by April 1, 2019.
