codearchiver is a Python tool and an IRC bot for archiving source code repositories or, more generally, version control systems. It produces output in the file format native to the VCS, e.g. Git bundles, and stores the necessary metadata that allows for deduplicating archives of related repositories and for restoring repositories.

codearchiver can be used standalone and is available on PyPI. Only the IRC bot's data ends up in the collection on the Internet Archive. However, standalone use may still be useful for people wanting to create their own archives or wanting to create snapshots of private repositories.
