Manyland was an in-browser pixel sandbox universe game by Philipp Lenssen and Scott Lowe. It relied heavily on user-generated content. Its universe and various areas were open for building.
Many documents such as help and forums were also accessed in-game (https://manyland.com/helptown).
On 2023-10-02, Philipp Lenssen disclosed budget difficulties.[1] On 2023-11-26, it was announced that Manyland would shut down, perhaps in January 2024; on 2024-02-15, this date was updated to 2024-02-29.[2]
Its website now hosts static snapshots of various areas.
Websites appeared to snapshot areas, such as https://areabackup.com/ and https://offlineland.io/.
From 2023 to closure, Facebook login was not functional, locking many users out of their accounts.
