Subscene was a website that offered a vast user-contributed database of subtitles for films, television shows, and web series in various languages.
It was announced on 2024-05-02 that the site would cease operations within 24 hours, and that a "takeover plan was not possible". No reason was given for the sudden closure.[1] A DPoS project was started 2024-05-03 13:56 UTC and was able to grab most subtitles before the website's demise later that day at 2024-05-03 21:11 UTC.
