Vivian Maier (1926-2009) was an American street photographer whose remarkable body of work was discovered posthumously.
Working as a nanny in Chicago for most of her life, Maier privately captured over 100,000 photographs, primarily in black and white, documenting urban life, architecture, and candid moments of strangers.
Unknown during her lifetime, her work gained international acclaim after being unearthed in 2007.
