Rick Prelinger is an American archivist, filmmaker, and writer, best known for founding the Prelinger Archives, a collection of over 60,000 ephemeral films, including educational, industrial, advertising, and amateur footage.
The collection was acquired by the Library of Congress in 2002, and Prelinger partnered with the Internet Archive to make more than 6,000 films freely available online for public viewing.
