Mediaworks is a significant Hungarian media corporation, operating dozens of websites (mainly news), also issuing print newspapers and running radio stations.
During the Fidesz government (2010–2026), its media outlets were indirectly funded by lots of governmental advertisements, which source of income has been cut with the change of government in May 2026. As a result, layoffs and cessation of some of its news websites were announced in June 2026[1][2].
