Martin Kunze is the founder of Memory of Mankind,[1] an initiative launched in 2012 to preserve the legacy of our civilization for future generations.
Kunze, a trained ceramicist and artist, conceived the MOM project as a response to the fragility of digital information and the risk of global amnesia in the digital age. His idea was to create a modern-day time capsule that could endure for millennia safeguarding the stories, knowledge, and culture of our era.
The MOM archive is located deep within a salt mine in Hallstatt, Austria.
