CyberCiti
CyberCiti is a popular Linux-related blog that is at least a decade old[1], which contains comprehensive guides on a wide variety of commands and software.
CyberCiti is owned by Vivek Gite, who used to operate a Linux help forum, "nixcraft.com". In the year 2015, Vivek shut down that forum without a warning, leaving behind the following love letter to its contributors and visitors:[2]
Notice the lack of remorse over deleting years of volunteer contributions, followed by his shameless advertisement plug of his blog and social media profile.
Sites owned by Vivek Gite may be helpful in the short term, but are not reliable as a long-term reference. If there is anything of value, save it locally.
Vital signs
Its exclusion from the Wayback Machine puts the entire site history at risk should it shut down in future. Deletion of articles likely causes unrecoverable dead links from other sites such as internet forums.
This should be kept in mind when linking to guides on CyberCiti. If possible, search an alternative or create a guide on an archive-friendly site like Wikiversity.
